I-405, SR 20 closures begin this week

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Up to two lanes of southbound I-405 will close from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast overnight Thursday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 4. The closure affects drivers traveling toward Mount Vernon.

State Route 20 will continue alternating traffic with flaggers from Swin Slough Bridge (milepost 50) to Laconner Whitney Road/Bay View Road (milepost 53) starting Aug. 21 until further notice for Anacortes utilities work. SR 4 will have single-lane closures weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. between 50th Avenue and 42nd Avenue until Sept. 11 for gas line work.

WSDOT reports these closures are necessary for infrastructure projects including fish passage construction on I-5 near exit 240, which will reduce lanes nightly through Sept. 4. Drivers should expect delays and follow flagger directions.
