Mount Vernon School District (MVSD) announced that all elementary and middle school students will receive universal school supplies funded by a grant, with materials delivered directly to schools. Families no longer need to purchase basic classroom supplies, as students will only need to bring backpacks to school.
The district stated this initiative aligns with its Strategic Plan to support student belonging and engagement. School teams organized supplies over the summer to ensure classrooms are ready for the start of the school year. The effort aims to reduce back-to-school expenses for families and ensure all students begin the year prepared to learn.
