Mount Vernon School District (MVSD) will provide universal school supplies to all elementary and middle school students starting this fall, funded by grant money. The supplies will be delivered directly to schools, meaning students only need to bring a backpack to class.

The district stated this initiative supports its Strategic Plan by promoting a 'strong sense of belonging and engagement' while reducing family expenses. School teams organized supplies over the summer to ensure classrooms are ready when school begins on August 26, 2026.
