Voter Pamphlet Missing Sheriff Statement, Disclaimer

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Skagit County's 2026 Local Voters' Pamphlet had two errors: a sheriff candidate's statement was left out of the printed version, and a required legal disclaimer was missing, according to the Auditor's Office.

The sheriff candidate requested no additional mailer to avoid costs to taxpayers. The Auditor's Office added the candidate's statement to the online pamphlet and will include a supplemental page in future printed pamphlets. The League of Women Voters will help distribute this page by hand, but the office will not mail it due to cost.

The Auditor's Office also confirmed a WAC 434-381-200 disclaimer was omitted. Washington law requires it in the State Voters' Pamphlet, but not the Local Voters' Pamphlet.
