WSDOT Updates: Multiple Road Closures in Skagit Valley

Multiple road closures and lane restrictions begin or continue in Skagit Valley this week for maintenance and fish passage projects.

The left lane of northbound Interstate 5 will close daily from 6 to 10 a.m. between Samish Way and Iowa Street starting Saturday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 16. The Iowa Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The SR 169 closure between Southeast 332nd Street and Plass Road near Jones Lake begins Monday, Aug. 17, and will last 35 days for fish barrier removal. SR 161 will close between 28th Avenue South and Military Road South from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, for fish culvert installation. SR 9 will remain closed south of Mount Vernon Big Lake Road until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.
