WSP Seeks Witnesses for I-5 Shooting, Hit-and-Run

Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking witnesses for two separate incidents in King County involving I-5 and SR 99. On August 23, a black Ford Raptor driver reported being shot at by a Kia Spectra on southbound I-5 near 216th Street. A bullet pierced the passenger door. The suspect vehicle was driven by a black male with a black female passenger and fled southbound on I-5.

WSP detectives are also seeking information about a motorcycle collision on SR 99 near 14th Ave S on August 22. A motorcycle rider was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The rider was hospitalized in serious condition. Both incidents are under investigation, with detectives asking the public to contact them via email or dashcam footage.

The one-sided road rage incident started EB SR 518 to SB I-5 with the suspect driving a Kia Spectra. The suspect continued driving aggressively and when the vehicles were in the area of SB I-5 near S. 216th the driver of the suspect vehicle fired one shot at the victim. The driver was described at a black male with a black female in the passenger seat. The suspect continued SB I-5 at a high rate. Detectives are seeking anyone that witnessed or has information on this shooting.
